Silent Power

"Everyone has been made for some particular work, and the desire for that work has been put in every heart. Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love."
~ Rumi

I feel God in the way me and my Dad can pick up a guitar each and make awesome spontaneous music no matter what is going on in our lives, no matter what time of day or season. That simple momentary connection brings me more joy than anything else I have worried about or strove for in many years.

How easily I forget the simple, how fast I build up the pain. How quickly it dissolves when the simple is brought to attention.

I love you Dad. That loungeroom is the greatest stage I'll ever have. May I never lose this presence, the ability to once again feel the eternity of moments. Surprising drifts in the snow of ordinary life, shallow pools in the bitter crags of life; daily reflections and mirrors to the soul.

I have much to be grateful for, and tomorrow is another day.
