“This is the world as it is. This is where you start.”
                                                              ― Saul D. Alinsky

I am preparing, today, to gather and inspire my people. I am a Union Delegate at my worksite and we have begun Enterprise Bargaining Agreement negotiations.

I respect my overarching Multi-National Company's business practice in this day and age (forget past discrepancies for now), and would not defame their name, but it must be said that their business model of "Ethical Standards As The Means, Profit as The End" is working well.

We are enticed and enchanted by fun Pyjama Days, Mexican Food Days, free fruit and lovely management people. We are meanwhile getting short breaks and are not paid accordingly.

Though not as many of us know it as we should, we are engaged in a battle for our voices to be heard, for us to be appreciated and compensated as we deserve, and to be treated as the equal human beings we are.

Today we are allowed Union Meetings in the morning for the first time in a few years.

Today I will look my colleagues and friends in the eye, and my affirmation is that my vision for a good EBA becomes a reality.

That begins by all of us seeing that vision too, and thus I have a message to carry.
None, absolutely none of the expected fears are in me today. I am brimming with confidence, and I will succeed.

I love my life.
